About EFL
Education for Life-Kenya (EFL) is a professionally managed Human Development Training and Community Empowerment organization established as a Catholic faith-based trust under the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa. EFL is committed to helping individuals and communities discover their untapped potential, overcome life challenges, and take meaningful action towards improving their wellbeing. Through its Behaviour Change Process, a practical, problem-solving and action-oriented approach inspired by Gerald Egan’s The Skilled Helper model, EFL equips children, youth, women, couples, and vulnerable communities with knowledge, skills, values, and competencies. Its programmes promote positive choices, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and empower people to pursue healthier, more dignified, productive, and fulfilling lives.

What Is our Approach?
Pedagogy
Education for Life-Kenya uses a participatory, person-centred approach that helps individuals examine their values, understand their realities, and challenge limiting attitudes that contribute to risky behaviours and hinder personal growth. Through reflection and action praxis, using plenary sessions, small-group discussions, and focused input, participants discover their potential, embrace positive change, and actively engage in personal transformation.
